VINTAGE ROSÉ CUVÉE BRUT SPARKLING 2014 Méthode Cap Classique, WO Western Cape, South Africa
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KRONE
Medium salmon pink colour. Complex, yeasty, slightly spicy, ripe plum-apple nose with some toasty notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, very bright, slightly spicy, ripe plum flavours with a fairly fruity, very crisp, effervescent finish. Has 12% alcohol and 9 g with lot number 24414 on the lower part of the glass bottle. A second bottle sampled had an off-putting nose meaning that I would like to assess a third bottle. The 2009 (**) was released on November 9, 2013 at $22.95. CSPC 130047

TASTING NOTE: Pale pink in the glass, this entices with expressive notions of pomegranate, strawberry, apple and citrus with wisps of toast and pastry notes. Bursting with fresh acidity, it's juicy and food-friendly. A pleasant crowd pleaser with the substance to impress wine geeks, too. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2014) Price $ 18.95
