Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VIÑALBA
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, juicy, baked cherry-plum puree nose with some cedary notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, very tangy, spicy, juicy, blueberry compote flavours with a lingering, cedary finish. This blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Touriga Nacional has 14.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number L30615 on the back label. It would seem that this batch was bottled after the tasting date and exceptionally high score appearing in the Vintages Catalogue CSPC 442459

Owner of Viñalba, Hervé Joyaux Fabre joined forces with Portuguese winemaker Rui Reguinga for this 80% Malbec from almost 50-year-old vines and 20% Touriga Nacional from younger vines.(decanter.com, Aug. 6, 2015) TASTING NOTE: A terrific example of Malbec with its violet and cherry flavours.
