LCBO Note Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
This warming, enticingly perfumed spirit was distilled in the Chrysopoeia, Poli's innovative vacuum double boiler still, and then aged for one year in French oak barriques. This Grappa's name honours Cleopatra the Alchemist, a 3rd- or 4th-century alchemist, philosopher and author of the Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra, who was also credited with inventing the alembic - an early version of the pot still. She may not have succeeded in producing gold, but Poli certainly has. Price $ 79.95
