Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very faintly herbal, slightly spicy, gently juicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedar notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, bright, plum-cherry flavours with a very crisp, lingering, cedar-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number CVL24216 on the back label. Better than the 2012 (*+/**) released on February 7, 2015 at $16.95. TONY ASPLER / 87.5-points - Cedary, cassis and dark chocolate bouquet; full-bodied, dry, blackcurrant and vanilla oak flavours; richly extracted, fruity with plum and blackcurrant flavours. TASTING NOTE: The polish and poise that are so typical of the Fabre Montmayou style are gloriously in evidence here on this varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of chocolate, green pepper and graphite combine attractively on the palate, with stylish oak, filigree tannins and lovely fruit weight. 2016-22.
