SINGLE BARREL BOURBON WHISKEY Chicago
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KOVAL
Light golden amber colour. Peppery, spicy, slightly honeyed, plummy, caramel nose with some cinnamon notes. Very dry, plum-apple flavours with some cinnamon heart notes on the lingering, bitter, herbal finish. Distilled in Chicago, this hefty 47% alcohol single barrel Bourbon with new lot number 2Q4X02 on the back label is not at all up to when it last appeared in Vintages (***) scoring 90-points on August 22, 2015 at $95.95. The current average price in the US is $64 CND. For me, it’s a pass at the price. CSPC 423368

This organic, single-barrel Bourbon took home a Gold Medal at the 2014 International Whisky Competition. While all Bourbons must be distilled from at least 51% corn, this one is unusual in that the remainder is millet rather than wheat or rye. Look for soft vanilla and apricot notes and a lingering spiciness. Price $ 95.95
