| Clear and colourless. Attractive fresh cut sweet hay nose with some ripe pear notes. Fairly dry, harmonious, medium bodied, very slightly sweet, faintly grassy, pear puree flavours with a lingering crisp finish. This repeat was recommended (***) scoring 92-points when released on September 19, 2015 at $59.95. |

| The Nonino family pioneered the practice of distilling single grape varieties to create sophisticated and refined grappas with distinct character. F. Paul Pacult awarded this grappa a rating of 4 Stars (out of 5) in his 2008 publication Kindred Spirits 2, calling it \"succulently sweet and stunningly ripe and compelling ... a svelte, sinewy grappa which is more elegant than powerful, but that's not to say that there isn't some fire in the hole.\" TASTING NOTE: ... the Merlot has the most of what I look for in a good grappa: a sweet, almost fresh grape nose, followed by the strong, complex flavor of a good red.
