Tasting note: A marriage of Dalmore whiskies between 10 and 20 years old, mainly in the mid teens. Colour: dark orange. Nose: a soft, rounded smokiness. Suggestions of black chocolate and orange creams. Body: firm, smooth. Palate: rich, rounded. A hint of rum butter, then dryish and firm. Hard caramel toffee. Hint of burnt sugar. Faint smoke. Never cloying. With the cigar, a complement rather than a contrast. Finish: light, smoky, wood bark, ground almonds, dryness. Scores points for originality and for balance.
