LORD LIEUTENANT KINAHAN'S 10-YEAR-OLD SINGLE MALT IRISH WHISKEY Dublin, Ireland
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KINAHAN'S
Bright light amber-orange colour. Intense, slightly peppery, very gently cedary, clove-tinged nose. Very dry, medium bodied, faintly honeyed, tangy plum flavours with a long, lingering, slightly austere, somewhat cedary, harmonious finish. Has 46% alcohol with lot number 11/2016. Matured in former Bourbon barrels for at least 10 years, I am not too keen on this style. Tasted once. One of 53 NEW ITEMS in Vintages (40% of total). CSPC 481358

TASTING NOTE: This golden whisky offers a fresh, grassy scent. Matured in former Bourbon barrels for at least 10 years, it's soft yet smoky on the palate, though not overwhelmingly so. The smoke leaves plenty of room to enjoy the breezy tropical fruit, almond and ginger notes, finishing with a mellow honeysuckle accent. This was listed on the 2015 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Spirits. Score - 90 (Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2015) Price $ 109.95
