Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

Clear pale gold colour. Very intense, complex, extremely sweet, spicy, cloves, pine needles and orange rind nose. Sweet but well balanced, clove, Chartreuse-influenced flavours. A repeat of the May 10, 2003 order. A little goes a long way. |

Tasting note: A pale gold liqueur/bitter, this has a complex nose of many classic baking spices, including cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, mace and there are hints of anise floating around too. Very smooth and rounded, a hint of sweetness with all the spices carrying through into a lengthy finish. The manufacturers suggest consuming with tonic or soft drinks, but if the need to mix arises, club soda would be the ticket so as not to detract from this arresting spirit. Score – 90.
