GREEN CHARTREUSE V.E.P. France, ‘Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé’, With Wooden Gift Box
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Chartreuse Diffusion
Light clear lime-green colour. Intense, spicy, sweet basil, cloves, tangerine rind and licorice on the nose. Viscous, sweet, pungent, very spicy, clove-driven flavours with a peppery, lingering finish. A bit of an acquired taste. A favorite of mine. CSPC 393934

Under Chartreuse rules, ‘Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé’ means its must be aged in wood for a minimum of 12 years. Tasting note: Sublime. Pale vibrant green, almost ‘day glo’. A plethora of aromas, including herbs, mint, orange rind, new leather, licorice, basil and spring flowers all vie for your attention. This sweet digestive has a constantly evolving flavour profile. Though the alcohol is high, the flavours are easily up to the task of keeping the heat in perfect line. An ideal after-meal digestif. (Vintages panel, June 1999) Price $ 69.95
Bottle Size 500 mL
Tasting Date vintages release - November 15, 2003
