SPARKLING VIDAL ICEWINE 2001 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer INNISKILLIN
This vintage is weaker than previous runs of this novel wine. Bright, lemon colour, few bubbles visible. Rather weak aromas of vinyl, pineapple and leesy notes. Medium weight with some lively effervescence but flavours are mild, with a bit of greenness on the finish. (MT - 84 - A Weaker Effort */*+) I had a totally different experience with another bottle of this wine suggesting that the latter was suffering from a poor closure. It rated 89 and had nice effervescence balancing very sweet and yet still tangy, clover honey, orange marmalade and apricot jam flavours. CSPC 560367
