Medium ambering orange colour. Very sweet, spicy, honeyed, maple syrup nose. with some faintly peppery plummy-caramel notes. Sweet, medium-full bodied, viscous, smooth, intense, somewhat peppery, maple-syrup flavours with a lingering, cedary, vanilla-stick-tinged finish. This blend of 100% rye whisky aged seven years in white oak barrels and first-run Quebec maple syrup has 40.9% alcohol with a new lot number L170907 on the lower part of the glass bottle. This REPEAT is not quite up to when it last appeared in Vintages (***) on November 28, 2015 at $49.95 and was an Explorer Selection. CSPC 317206

TASTING NOTE: The coming of spring brings in the year's first harvest: maple syrup. Sugar shacks will be opening and the sap running this March. Bring the fun home with a bottle of Sortilege Prestige, a uniquely Canadian blend of100 per cent rye whisky aged seven years in white oak barrels mixed with first run Quebec maple syrup (category one, extra clear, considered the finest).
