‘CHANCELLA’ AGUARDENTE Aguardente de Vinho Velha, Portugal
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Ferreira - A.A. Ferreira S.A.
Very deep amber in colour with a yellow edge. Spicy, honeyed, gently sweet, baked ripe plum and caramel-chocolate nose with some earthy fallen leaf forest notes. Dry, fairly bright, baked ripe plum and prune flavours. Reminiscent of a fine old Armagnac. Last appeared in Vintages (**) on December 1, 2001 at $39.85. CSPC 993626

Dry Honeyed Caramel
LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
Tasting note: A wood-aged aguardente (brandy), it has a rich amber glow complemented by a nose of spicy caramel. It’s somewhat sweet upfront but a very soft, medium bodied palate with peppery spice whips everything back into an elegantly lengthy finish. Score – 90.
