SKETCHES OF NIAGARA RIESLING 2016 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE)
The wrong vintage (2015) was presented in the lab. Here is my tasting note for the 2016. Bright extremely pale straw colour. Intense, spicy, honeyed, ripe apple-lemon-melon nose with some mineral notes. Off dry, light bodied, tangy, spicy, faintly honeyed, intense, ripe lime-melon-apple-lemon flavours with a lingering, very crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. This REPEAT has 10% alcohol and 27g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. The recommended 2016 (**+) was last released on June 9, 2018 at $18.95. CSPC 89029

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: This remains one of the great values in Niagara riesling. It's very bright with impeccable acid-sugar balance, and so lively. From this warmer vintage expect more petrol than normal, plus ripe apricot and candied pineapple fruit and lemon. Fine balance here, with a touch of spritz, with excellent length. A great summer sipping style. Score - 91 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, June 7, 2018) Price $ 18.95
