The wrong vintage (2015) was presented in the lab. Here is my tasting note for the 2016. Bright extremely pale straw colour. Intense, spicy, honeyed, ripe apple-lemon-melon nose with some mineral notes. Off dry, light bodied, tangy, spicy, faintly honeyed, intense, ripe lime-melon-apple-lemon flavours with a lingering, very crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. This REPEAT has 10% alcohol and 27g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. The recommended 2016 (**+) was last released on June 9, 2018 at $18.95. |

TASTING NOTE: This remains one of the great values in Niagara riesling. It's very bright with impeccable acid-sugar balance, and so lively. From this warmer vintage expect more petrol than normal, plus ripe apricot and candied pineapple fruit and lemon. Fine balance here, with a touch of spritz, with excellent length. A great summer sipping style. Score - 91 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, June 7, 2018) |
