MARS WHISKY Japan
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer IWAI
Medium orange amber. Very spicy, honeyed, warm plummy-prune nose with some caramel notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly soft, attractive, warm plum purée flavours with a lingering, vanilla-caramel finish. Unlike traditional single malt Scotch whisky, this corn-and-malt-based blend has some Bourbony, faintly sweet, vanilla and brown sugar notes. It has 40.5% alcohol with lot number 38041 on the back label.

LCBO Note Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
Crafted in the highest-elevation distillery in Japan, the Iwai is a corn-and-malt-based blend and takes its stylistic lead from Bourbon; it is, after all, aged in Bourbon barrels. Look for pear notes with some red fruit accents and vanilla, all presented with the smoothness and clarity that is increasingly typifying Japanese whisky. Price $ 59.95
