PURO QUEBRANTA PISCO PDO, Peru
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LA CARAVEDO
The LCBO refused to allow the accredited wine reviewers to taste this March 16 release. A REPEAT - here is my previous note that last appeared in Vintages (***) with 94-points on May 12, 2018 at $39.95. Clear and colourless. Attractive, intense, faintly spicy, dried ripe pear purée nose with a faint floral-herbal hint reminiscent of agave. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, attractive, fairly intense, elegant, gentle ripe pear flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, bright finish. It is rare to get two single grape premium Pico “Puro” in a single Vintages release. Made from the Quebranta grape this Pisco has 41% alcohol. CSPC 542654
