Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GLENMORANGIE
This is one of 78 items (125 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. This seventh REPEAT last appeared in Vintages (***/***+) with 94-points on November 10, 2018 at $337.95. Here is my previous note: Bright light golden yellow amber colour. Fairly intense, very faintly peppery, spicy, intense, ripe plum-caramel purée nose with some apple purée tinged notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, harmonious, well structured, intense, mouth filling, slightly spicy, very faintly dusty, intense, caramel-plum-apple flavours with a lingering, very bright, somewhat aggressive, slightly leathery, gently peppery finish. TASTING NOTE: This is a showstopper, a big and bold departure for a single-malt brand otherwise known for delicacy. As rich as its dark-amber hue would suggest, it puts an extra \"o\" in \"smooth.\" Syrupy-dense, the Glenmorangie Signet, bottled at 46-per-cent alcohol, gracefully weaves together a rich tapestry of fine Scotch nuances: dried fruit, toasted nuts, dried cereal, cocoa, vanilla, coffee and toasty oak. Don't dream of mixing this voluptuous after-dinner glory with anything but good friends or family. Score - 97 (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, April 17, 2017) Price $ 339.95
