This is one of 58 items (120 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ONE-STAR rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The 2011 (*+/**) was released on November 14, 2015 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Complex, slightly spicy, plummy, very cedary, bitter chocolate nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, extremely cedary, solid, plummy, baked cherry flavours with a lingering, cedary finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number L15-183-303 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: The Zuccardi Tempranillo - one of only a handful of varietal expressions of the grape in Argentina - combines fruit from Santa Rosa with 20% from Paraje Altamira. Fresh, spicy and very lightly oaked, with good underlying structure and plum and damson fruit. Drink Date: 2017-22. Score - 92 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Argentina Special Report 2017) |
