GRASEVINA 2017 Danube-Kutjevo Vineyard
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KUTJEVO
Very bright medium straw colour. Intense, very spicy, somewhat honeyed, ripe apple purée nose with lots of floral , yellow plum notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, somewhat honeyed, fresh, ripe yellow grapefruit-apple-melon flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, unoaked, very faintly bitter finish. A tasty, ready-to-drink, refreshing, change of pace white! But it’s not “New at Vintages”. This REPEAT 100% Croatian Grasevina (aka Welschriesling) now has 12.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L35418 on the back label. Not quite up to the recommended 2017 (**+) with 89-points that was released on March 2, 2019 at $15.95 with a different lot number L20518 on the back label, higher alcohol (it was 13%) and also different LCBO cspc number 519074.
