| This is one of 64 items (128 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. A REPEAT of the recommended best buy 2016 (**/**+) was released on July 7, 2018 at $18.95. Here is my previous note and I hope that :repeat lives up to the previous shipment: Fairly deep purple colour. Gently spicy, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum puree nose. Dry and medium bodied with some fairly attractive, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours along with a lingering, crisp finish. Quite charming and ready-to-drink. Has 14% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L8074 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

| TASTING NOTE: The 2016 vintage of Storia Antica (translates to ancient history) is a great value Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore from the Veneto wine region, with rich dark fruit, smoky and toasty on the palate. Generous oak is well woven with rich black fruit, mocha and dark chocolate. Savoury, dark and delicious with full-bodied weight and incredible concentration of flavour. Long finish. Great wine. Well-structured and balanced with supple tannins, this is a comfort wine and a perfect pairing to slow-braised beef ribs and rich meat dishes. Drink: 2018-2024.
