Deep yellow colour. Intense, very spicy, bitter, herbal, clove-tinged, licorice nose. Quite sweet, medium-full bodied, well structured, honeyed, somewhat bitter, very intense, clove-tinged, wintergreen flavours with a lingering, pungent, evergreen finish. May not be for everyone. Made in Quebec, it has 36% alcohol and comes in a 500 ml bottle. This bitter herbal liqueur with origins in Bavarian monasteries was originally scheduled not to be presented at the Vintages release tasting. Is goes for $26.10 at the SAQ, but it sells for only $19.95 via My Wine Canada and if you order three bottles, it ships for free! |

This intriguing, exciting liqueur is crafted using a precise maceration of specially selected herbs and spices and is aged in oak. It's floral, with a robust, pleasantly bitter flavour profile and great depth and complexity from the component herbs and spices. It should be served chilled, either straight or over ice.
