Made in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Old Rip Van Winkle is a neighbour to the legendary whiskey producer, Wild Turkey. Tasting note: Light ‘brown sugar’ colour. Impressive Bourbon with noses of lilacs at the height of spring, dried fruit, light smoke, tobacco and caramel. Dry, slightly sweet, fruity and almost creamy in the mouth. Quite full-bodied, but never heavy. Persistent cooling after taste. (David Churchill, Vintages, Feb. 2001) |
