| Bright orange-tinged light amber colour. Intense, complex, spicy, citrusy, baked ripe apple purée nose with some honeyed, caramel notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, rather spicy, bright, plummy warm ripe apple purée flavours with a lingering, harmonious, caramel, very faintly smoky Bourbon-tinged finish. This is the first of a new series of Boulard VSOP Pays d’Auge Calvados which sees its apple brandy finished in a variety of different oak casks. Very nice! New and not previously rated. |

A burst of baking spice leads the palate, smoothed by concentrated caramel, which slides into a lightly sweet finish laced with orange peel and baked apple.
