| One of 89 items (64% of 139 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The 2015 last appeared in Vintages (**/**+) on August 5, 2017 at $18.95 and was an Explorer Selection. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, faint mocha-chocolate nose with some baked ripe plum notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, solid, spicy, intense, plum flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. Has 14% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17073L1L17151LB on the back label. |

| TASTING NOTE: Smoky, almost stalky aromas of desert herbs and brush fire require some patience but come around. A brusque but flush palate with foresty flavors of plum, clove and oak spice holds on to the holiday spice theme on the finish. Given that 2016 was a rough year for most of Mendoza, this Malbec is a success. Score - 90 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2019) |
