SERIE A TORRONTÉS 2019 IP Salta
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ZUCCARDI
One of 52 items (49% of 106 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item that is not presented is assigned NO star (-) and an interim 0-point proxy score until it is properly assessed. The 2017 last appeared in Vintages (**/**+) on August 31, 2019 at $16.95 and was Recommended. Here is my previous note: Bright very pale straw colour. Very spicy, honeyed, faintly mineral-tinged, attractive, fresh, ripe lychee nose. Dry, medium-light bodied, very spicy, honeyed, intense, fresh ripe lychee-apple-lemon flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. Try well-chilled with spicy Asian cuisine. Has 13.9% alcohol and now 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18-016-101 on the back label. CSPC 389262

TASTING NOTE: I tasted the 2019 Torrontés Serie A next to the 2018, so I could compare the character of the two years, as the wines are produced from the same grapes and in exactly the same way: without any contact with oak. It was bottled in July 2019. Drink date: 2020-2022. Score - 91+ (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2019) Price $ 16.95
