Isle of Arran Distillery is the only whisky house in the world licensed to use the name and likeness of Scotland’s bard poet, Robert Burns, on their packaging. This is the perfect gift for the ‘Burnsophile’ on your list. Arran was opened in 1995, thus many of their whiskies are not yet age-designated. Tasting note: Pale wheat straw colour with aromas of heather, flowers, dried peach, new wood and a touch of peat and brine. Dry, fragrant, creamy/buttery textured with a touch to heat on the mid-palate. Light-bodied with a lingering warm floral finish. (Vintages panel, April 2003) Food match: salmon sushi. |
