At the behest of the patriarch Tony, the Poli clan began distilling and oak ageing this blend of Grappa in 1989. Every year, until his death in 2001, they filled nine barrels with each year's blended Grappas. At his request, once he was departed, Tony indicated that these Grappas should finally be bottled and sold. This is the first commercialization of these extra special aged, blended Grappas. Tasting note: Tasting note: Aged 13 years in barriques made of rover from Allier, it is made from pomace from red grapes, distilled in antique copper stills. It has an aroma of toasted wood, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, a persistent flavour and an alcohol grade of 55% vol. (Mariangela Molinari, www.mattonigranddrink.com, 2001) Price $ 94.95
