BOTTEGA POMEGRANATE LIQUORE Melagrana di Sicilia |

Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO as a personal holiday highlight. The unique liqueur is based on a minimum of 25% Sicilian pomegranate juice. It has a clear faintly reddish-tinged light orange colour. The nose is sweet, very spicy and rather tangy (it makes my nose itch with excitement) with intense, pomegranate-tangerine aromas. It’s sweet, medium bodied, tangy, very spicy, intense, orange-citrus-tinged, pomegranate flavours that are followed up by a lingering, bright, fairly high acid finish. Has a 20% alcohol along with a high but unknown quantity of sugar with lot number L28320 on the upper part of the glass bottle. This must be kept in a cool dark place and is meant to be consumed in the near future. As of today December 16th, there are 865 bottles in 93 stores including 280 in the London and Durham warehouses. |
