| Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO as a personal holiday highlight. The pistachio a member of the cashew family and this delicious unusual sweet treat is made 100% from Sicilian pistachios from the foothills of Mount Etna. It has a dense fairly deep lime green colour. The nose is rich, sweet and spicy with intense, creamy, warm, ripe pistachio aromas along with honey, caramel and white chocolate notes. Sweet, medium-full bodied, dense, rich and very creamy, the very attractive, intense, spicy, ripe pistachio flavours are followed up by a lingering, caramel-chocolate-tinged finish. Has a modest 17% alcohol along with a high but unknown quantity of sugar with lot number L21920 on the upper part of the glass bottle. It should be kept in a cool dark place - I prefer to drink it neat and not chilled. Being in my coolish pantry isn’t a problem as it won’t last long! As of today December 16th, only 232 bottles remain in 62 stores. HURRY! |
