APPELLATION SAN CARLOS CABERNET FRANC 2018 San Carlos, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CATENA
This is the third release in Vintages - the first one was the 2013, the second was the 2016 and now the 2018. This very accomplished 100% Cabernet Franc is getting better with each release. Very deep intense purple colour, the attractive, spicy, ripe, gently juicy, plummy-red currant nose has some slightly leafy, cedary notes (12 months aging in new French oak). It’s very dry, medium-full bodied and well structure with ripe plummy-red-currant flavours with some faintly herbal, lead pencil and cedar notes on the firm, lingering, still youthful finish. Has 13.5% alcohol and only 1.8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20309 the back label. CSPC 450106
