Camus is one of the few major Cognac houses that is still in private hands. What is the secret for making great Cognac? Current owner, Jean-Paul Camus claims it is easy: “all you need is a great-grandfather, a grandfather and a father who have dedicated their lives to it”. Tasting note: Deep russet, intense floral fruit aromas with notes of mead and spice. Sharply spicy fruit on the palate, with a persistent, excellent finish. Layers of flavour development. Camus uses a high percentage of Borderies cognacs in their blend, which contributes that higher floral-fruit intensity. Score – 92.
