SINGLE VINEYARD LA ESPERANZA BONARDA 2017 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer EL ENEMIGO
I can’t recall ever seeing so many Bonarda releases at the LCBO in a single month. It’s great - I love this grape when it’s well made and here we have yet another winner from Argentina’s Mendoza’s El Enemigo winery. Extremely deep intense purple colour, the nose is excitingly stimulating with its spicy, cedary, intense, ripe, plummy,cassis-mocha-chocolate fragrance. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, spicy, mocha-chocolate-tinged, bright, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, buttery, toasty, macadamia nut finish. Great mouth feel and quite ready to drink, it has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with labeling number 2-2154 on the back label. Don’t miss it! CSPC 629782

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of spiced blue fruit with a gently floral edge, as well as light, earthy and stony aromas. This has such intriguing structure with fine, dense tannins, carrying ripe blue-fruit flavors in a fresh, succulent mode. Drinks like a good Morgon! Try now and for five years.
