PADDY OLD IRISH WHISKEY |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Cork Dist. Co./Irish Dist. Int. |
Medium deep yellow gold colour. Very spicy, sweetish, coconut-vanilla nose. Firm, dry, slightly peppery, French vanilla, caramel and coconut laid on faintly figgy, ripe plum fruit flavours. This crowd pleaser could not be mistaken for a single malt Scotch. |

Tasting note: I can tell you that Paddy [is] very creamy and soft, not the bold critter that the standard Bushmills is. I understand that Paddy’s is triple distilled and aged in oak. It’s been [made] by the Cork Distillers Company since 1779 and is named Paddy’s after Paddy Flaherty, purportedly a great salesman who spread the word of Paddy’s near and far. [This is a] fine Irish whiskey. Score – HHHH (out of 5). (F. S. Fitzgerald, www.alcoholreviews.com, Oct. 31, 2000) |
