This WHISKY SHOP ESSENTIAL has a bright light ambering-orange-gold colour. It has a very attractive, gently honeyed, spicy, warm ripe plummy nose with some honeyed, caramel notes with a hint of smoke. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, harmonious, rich, well structured, slightly spicy, bright, mellow, ripe plummy-caramel flavours with a lingering, honeyed, faintly nutty, orange citrus tinged finish. WHISKY SHOP CORE LISTING -Tasting Note: A wonderfully fresh mix of grape and mint. Taste: light, youthful, playful, mouthwatering. Less plodding honey, more vibrant Demerara and juiced-up butterscotch. Finish: long, with soft almost ice-cream style vanillas with a grapey topping. A superb re-working of an always trustworthy malt. This dramatic change in shape works a treat and suits the malt perfectly. What a sensational success!! Score - 94.
