Tasting note: A huge body, similar to the 8-year-old bottling but a little richer – the caramel, honey and vanilla still present, the leather gone and replaced by cinnamon and nutmeg. Great balance. The finish is long, slow and comfortable. Overall: The extra two years in the wood turned this bourbon into a true, smooth, sippin’ whiskey. Sip it from a snifter or a shot glass, add ice if that is your wont, but nothing more than a splash of water should be used to dilute this sophisticated bourbon.
