Fairly deep amber colour. Refined, complex, gently spicy, vanilla stick and autumnal leaf nose. Solid, slightly peppery, mouthfilling, very slightly spicy, vanilla-prune purée flavours. Quite elegant with good length. |

Cigar lover Bernard Hine, of the Thomas Hine Cognac family, teamed up with Nicholas Freeman of Havana cigar importers, Hunters and Frankau, to combine their knowledge and experience to create a unique Cognac for cigar connoisseurs. Fin Bois Cognacs make up the majority of this 25 year old. Tasting note: The Cigar Reserve is rich and mellow with a beguiling touch of sweetness. There's a pronounced soft vanilla note from the new oak barrels in which it is first aged, but real steel is present in the spicy finish. (Fiona Beckett, Decanter, Nov. 1997) |
