[Made] from fresh moist pommace of recioto [mat-dried grapes used in the production of a sweeter style of Valpolicella and Amarone] from the Mezzanella vineyard in a small valley near Torbe; distilled in traditional pot stills and aged at least three years in 500-litre (132 gallon) barrels of Slovenian oak (50% alc./vol.) (Axel and Bibiana Behrendt, Grappa, 2000) Tasting note: A deep golden tone and a spicy, fresh aroma. Multilayered flavour with well-integrated wood aromas that develop enormous strength. Toasted aromas in the finish, which becomes more stringent but harmonious. (Axel and Bibiana Behrendt, Grappa, 2000) |
