| PUQUILLAY CARMENERE 2022 Valle de Colchagua |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ENCIERRA |
| ENCIERRA belongs to the Eyzaguirre Echenique family, longtime vine growers in the Colchagua Valley. Fairly deep purple red colour. Intense, bright, ripe, blueberry-raspberry nose with some gentle cedar-tinged, slightly earthy notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, ripe, nicely textured, juicy, crancherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, harmonious, gently savoury, lifted finish. This new Vintages release is quite ready to enjoy and would pair perfectly with a juicy lamb burger. 100% Carmenere from the Puquillay region, it was aged for 6 months in mostly third-use French oak with 14.5 % alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and lot number L23297 on the back label. |

| TASTING NOTE: Red-tea, brambleberry, orange and licorice aromas here. Medium-bodied, supple and juicy, with berry-soaked tannins and a silky finish. Delicious now [through end of the decade+]. Score - 91. (Claire Nesbitt, jamessuckling.com, March 12, 2024) |
