Highland Park created this exclusive numbered bicentenary edition to commemorate its founding in 1798. Distilled and barrelled in 1977, bottled in 1998, the whisky is 21 years old. Tasting note: Color: Pale walnut. Nose: Polished oak. Leather upholstery. Body: Firm satin richness. Palate: Minty. Creamy. Freshly peeled satsumas [tangerines]. Orange peels. Dark cherry flavours. Very bitter black chocolate. Astonishing complexity and length. Great power. Long development of drier flavours. Finish: Violets. Lingering flowery, scented flavours. Score – 94.
