Deep gold colour. Attractive, very gently peaty, complex and yet still elegant, rather honeyed, leathery, caramel nose. Intense, slightly peppery, very dry, well balanced, gentle caramel and ripe plum flavours with a smooth lingering finish. |

Highland Park created this exclusive numbered bicentenary edition to commemorate its founding in 1798. Distilled and barrelled in 1977, bottled in 1998, the whisky is 21 years old. Tasting note: Color: Pale walnut. Nose: Polished oak. Leather upholstery. Body: Firm satin richness. Palate: Minty. Creamy. Freshly peeled satsumas [tangerines]. Orange peels. Dark cherry flavours. Very bitter black chocolate. Astonishing complexity and length. Great power. Long development of drier flavours. Finish: Violets. Lingering flowery, scented flavours. Score – 94.
