Medium amber colour. Spicy, slightly sweet, honeyed caramel nose with lots of rounded, bourbon notes. Solid, dry, gently honeyed, rather peppery, charred, caramel-bourbon flavours that show very good length. |

Tasting note: It has an unusual colour for a whiskey, a pinkish gold, that can easily be attributed to time spent aging in used port pipes (barrels). It produces a gentle caramel aroma (charred bourbon casks) with sweet chocolate notes (port again) and is a huge, yet gentle, developed whiskey (those sherry butts). Very stylish long finish. Definitely an after dinner sipper. Slainte. Score – 96. (Patricia Noonan, Wine Access “First In Line E-Report”, Dec. 2001) |
