There is a bit of the bad boy about the Pràban Na Linne company. The producer’s name translates as ‘a smugglers outlet by the Sound of Sleat’ and the product itself, ‘Poit Dhubh’ means ‘illicit still’. It is the only distillery located in the Hebrides islands and is one of the few whisky companies that is still family owned. They are also known to thumb their nose at the rest of the industry, choosing instead to cut their own trail about what it means be a whisky producer in Scotland. |
