‘ORIGINAL STROH 54’ SPICED RUM Austria |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Sebastian Stroh |
Fairly deep amber colour. Very intense, sweet and extremely spicy, rum-driven nose with gingerbread and airplane glue. Extremely dry, pungent, alcoholic, (54%), spicy, peppery, gingerbread flavours that go on and on. An acquired taste and not for everyone. |

Tasting note: Buttery, sticky, sweet burnt sugar spice nose. Add top notes of citrus peel and a whiff of baked apples and the picture gets bigger, along with the big 54% alcoholic whack, which is there only in the name. Drying gingery spice and beautiful seamless flavour [lead] into a lengthy finish. Score – 93. (Patricia Noonan, Wine Access, ‘First In Line E-Report’, Oct. , 2003) |
