‘OLD RAJ’ GIN Scotland, Distilled in Great Britain, With Gift Box
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Wm. Cadenhead
Clear with a very faint lime-yellow colour. Intense, very spicy, slightly sweet, appealing, herbal, Chartreuse-like nose. Pungent, slightly peppery, mouthfilling, dry, spicy, anice tinged flavours. Apparently the slightly spicy flavour and pale yellow colour is the result of the presence of some saffron. It last appeared in Vintages on June 7, 2003 at $59.95. CSPC 715847

Cadenhead ‘Old Raj’ is distinctive in the world of gin because of one unique, very rare and costly ingredient, saffron. It not only adds a slight spicy flavour, but also gives the distillate a pale yellow colour. Enjoy this gin in an extra dry martini – the type where you merely wave the vermouth cap over the shaker. Score – 96. (Wine Enthusiast, July 2001) Price $ 64.95
