SHIRAZ/VIOGNIER 2007 Adelaide Hills, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MR. RIGGS
This 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier has an extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, ripe, plummy-cherry nose with lots of vanilla notes. Intense, well structured, medium to medium-full bodied, fairly extracty, refined, ripe black cherry purée flavours with a lingering, slightly spicy, harmonious, vanilla-tinged finish. A real winner. TASTING NOTE: Ben Riggs has been crafting fine wines for over 15 years – and now under his own moniker. His Shiraz/Viognier sports aromas of blackberry, coffee, pepper, and ripe, smoky cherry. The palate is rewarded again and again as you sip. A nicely balanced, medium-full-bodied red with a smooth finish. Stellar with roast beef or veal parmesan. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2010) Price $ 24.95
